WEBpackaging celebrates its Sweet Sixteen
Sixteen years ago this month, WEBpackaging took flight as an idea in the mind of CEO Duncan Briffett thanks to a FAX sent out by the Body Shop to a number of international packaging suppliers, looking for a specific item. Thinking it was an ineffecient way to find packaging, Duncan engineered the world's first website dedicated to providing a community for packaging buyers and suppliers to visit when looking to connect. Rexam’s new Finland plant to produce cans for the country’s original energy drink
The 33cl cans, which are designed to use the cans natural shape to resemble a battery and the ‘liquid energy’ inside, are currently manufactured at Rexam’s Denmark plant. Following the inauguration of the new plant in January, can production is now being moved to Finland, making the manufacturing process more efficient.

TricorBraun wins three of nine U.S. awards in international competition
TricorBraun, one of the world's largest suppliers of jars, bottles and other rigid packaging components, had a very successful year by winning three of the nine awards presented to U.S. businesses at the 2013 WorldStar International Packaging Competition. A total of 316 packages from 33 countries were involved in the annual, world-wide competition, recently conducted in Singapore. To participate in the WorldStar event, companies must have been recognized in a national competition such as the AmeriStar awards competition.
