Beauty and Cosmetics Packaging Innovations
Storopack, specialist in the field of protective packaging and based in Metzingen, Germany, has recently made improvements to its PaperPlus Chevron machine. The PaperPlus Chevron paper paddings can now be filled even faster into packages. Storopack has enhanced the operating speed of the new PaperPlus Chevron machine generation by 50 percent. With a speed over 30 m/min., the machine unfolds a paper tube and processes the material into a flexible paper padding and packing filler. The patented product fills more volume using less material and the polished & sophisticated aesthetics of the finished protective packaging has created a demand that is typically focused towards the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry. To improve the positive unpacking experience even more, PaperPlus Chevron is available with white kraft paper.
For top-fill applications (“in the box”) containing light products such as medicines where greater cushioning performance may not be necessary, PaperPlus Chevron has an additional setting, which simultaneously reduces paper consumption during operation, specifically for this purpose.
The machine is available as a table-top model or on a movable metal stand. PaperPlus Chevron offers a variety of options for integration into the packaging station and the packaging process. In a standard packaging system, the paper pads are made available in plastic pipes at an ergonomic working height for clasping. Using a conveyor system, the machine can supply paper padding to several packaging stations. The padding strip is automatically divided into sections. Based on the "working comfort" principles, Storopack configures the PaperPlus Chevron protective packaging system, for maximum effectiveness, efficiency and ergonomics, by using the "into-the-box" protective packaging solution.
The PaperPlus Chevron paper padding system was introduced in 2007. According to Paul Deis, Product Manager, PaperPlus Chevron has a unique position in the market for protective packaging made from paper. "The Chevron concept is an innovation and to this day it does not have a successor. The new machine generation once again brings two dimensions to the fore. Higher speed ensures higher productivity and the additional mode for reduced material consumption, when less cushioning performance is required, reduces the risk of oversupply and over packaging.“
