Giflor's Eco Low Profile flip-top cap for tube wins in the Rosupack 2015 PART awards

Italian plastic cap specialist Giflor has just taken the top prize at this year's Rosupack PART awards. The Packaging, Art, Research and Technology award was presented for the company's Eco Low Profile flip top cap for the tube which makes a considerable saving on the amount of plastic required when compared to a standard tube cap, thus helping the environment and whilst saving considerable costs in logistics.

The 10-person jury was particularly impressed with the forward-thinking of Giflor in having developed such an original, yet stylish product which meets the marketing requirements for sustainable packaging. On the jury, Gulinka Olga noted that it was a "real, sustainable, and cost saving solution" whereby the consistent reduction of raw materials that affected the package dimensions enabled "a big advantage for logistics". She also commented about how the design and ergonomics of the cap had not been sacrificed in order to reduce the overall size.

Also on the jury, Maria Stashenko commented on the application of the Eco Low Profile concept as a viable aid to branding efforts. She said that the Eco Low Profile was an "excellent, modern, and original development which is meeting the marketing requirements of sustainable packaging".

Giflor was a part of the award ceremony in large part due to the firm's historical partnership with Russian gateway firm Centr Upak.  RosUpack is Russia's premier packaging show, held since 1996 to bring together main domestic and international leaders in the packaging industry. RosUpack has has become the largest packaging exhibition in Russia, the CIS and Eastern Europe, with the 2015 edition offering 515 companies from 30 countries.
