The Cartridge Travel Sprayer

  • Glaspray

Fragrance packaging has traditionally been a question of taking a scent and matching it to a lifestyle - finding the right target consumer and creating a bottle and closure to appeal directly to him or her. Consumers, though, aren't two-dimensional, they have different moods, different occasions to attend - in effect, they have a need for variety.

And variety is one of the key concepts behind Glaspray's new cartridge travel perfume sprayer.

Best of all, when the perfume runs out (or the cologne, there's no reason men shouldn't enjoy the sprayer, too) the interior reservoir of the atomizer slips out so that it may be replaced with a full cartridge. Advantages? Well, not having to purchase a new bottle means less packaging is used, and that means less of an impact on the environment - reducing and reusing is a good thing. Further, it makes it easy for consumers to swap out the cartridge according to their needs.

For companies, this is a great way to create a full product line that's novel and attractive. The ability to design a mix and match line of products is extraordinary, based on any number of criteria. One route might be to create a "mood" line of personal fragrances or aromatherapy treatments, like using olfactory representations of "joy" or “melancholy". Another path might be to select a gift pack of occasion-inspired fragrances, like "soiree" or "first date". A firm might even use it to create a sample set. The possibilities are endless, as are the marketing approaches.

The cartridge travel sprayer is one of the most refined, easy-to-use, and innovative fragrance packaging concepts we've seen in a while.
