For certain kinds of products, the content and the propellant must be kept separate; in some cases the product must be dispensed in whatever position the can is held, from upright to upside down.
To meet these requirements, dual-compartment systems were developed, consisting of a valve on which a flexible, multi-layer bag containing the product is mounted. The propellant, liquid gas or compressed gas (nitrogen, air), is contained inside the can, outside the bag. Dual-compartment systems are suitable for use with gels, shampoos and other technical, pharmaceutical and cosmetics products. Coster’s dual-compartment solutions are known as BOV (Bag-On-Valve) systems. |
