Urban Decay Pocket Rocket launch sends gloss sales into orbit
Arguably inspired by HCT’s legendary ladies’ man VP Sales, Nick Gardner, the Urban Decay Pocket Rocket lipgloss launched in store across the US this week to great acclaim.
The creative team of HCT Packaging worked together with the internal development team at Urban Decay, headed by Wende Zomnir and Amy Zunzunegui, to create this light hearted yet revolutionary lip gloss, which is proving to be this year’s perfect spring pick me up.
The brief was easy: the ultimate wish list for any woman under the age of 90– hot make up, a selection of handsome young men you can take anywhere without them either speaking or trying to hit on your girlfriends, and a clever pack that wouldn’t ruin the cut of your jeans!
The Pocket Rocket packaging features clever lenticular images of eight gorgeous hunks, who, with a flick of the wrist, miraculously lose the majority of their clothes. The sleek PCTA bottle was specifically designed to be as streamlined as possible to slip effortlessly into back pockets allowing you to literally take your dream man about town, and the ink used to print the logo was ingeniously impregnated with heromones which are released to give a flirty feel good vibe when rubbed.
The eight highly pigmented shades of gloss each vary in texture and opacity, and all contain hi tech Hyaluronic Spheres which moisturise and plump up lines for a perfectly conditioned pout.
Amy Zunzunegui worked with HCT VP product development Alberto Acquati and his team of chemists to fine tune the luscious Italian formulations and HCT CA project managed the development from initial concept through to launch as a full turn key operation, reducing development time and ensuring speed to market: a key advantage with such a newsworthy and influential product.
