A wide range of Type 1 injection vials have been launched by packaging container specialists, Johnsen & Jorgensen (J & J).

These high quality products are among the first to emerge as a result of the recent agreement between J & J and Gujarat Glass, one of the world’s largest producers of glass containers.

J & J is now uniquely placed to offer UK customers competitively priced vials – made exclusively from borosilicate Type 1 glass – which can be customized to suit highly specific needs.

Capacities, for example, range from 2ml to 540ml, while neck diameters include 13, 20 and 32mm sizes.

J & J can also supply a wide range of stoppers or crimp-top seals, which can be supplied ‘silicon washed’ washed and packed under clean-room conditions, ‘ready for sterilization’ (RFS) or gamma irradiated ready for use.

Commenting on the product quality and versatility of supply provided by J & J, the company’s Sales Director, Jon Wear, pointed to the state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities involved:

“Product quality and consistency of dimensions are crucial with Type 1 vials, said Jon, especially for customers with ‘auto-fill’ production lines.” On-line cameras inspect all production, with dedicated laboratories also running rigorous checks on both the raw materials used and the finished products themselves.

Impressive Quality Management approvals include ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. All Type 1 vials are therefore certified to the highest standards set down by the pharmaceutical industry and, crucially, the processes and documentation used ensure tractability.
