Loire Plastic Industrie and Acti Pack

Quality: An ever-present requirement

Bearing customers in mind when it comes to consumer health and safety, Acti Pack and Loire Plastic Industrie have decided to apply the ISO 22000 standard to all of their processes and facilites. Acti Pack has already obtained ISO 22000 certification for its Andrezieux plant, while Loire Plastic Industrie is expected to complete its adherence to the standard by the first half of 2010.

This standard is acknowledged internationally and is based on the identification and control of hazards in order to guarantee a safe product to the end user.

The ISO 22000 standard involves the following elements:

•    HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) system:
This risk analysis process is aimed at eliminating risks or bringing risks down to an "acceptable" level for the company, at each stage of the production, all the way from the acceptance of supplies/raw materials right on down to the delivery of the finished product.

•    Tracking
Each stage of the production of any given product needs to be tracked along with the origin of all of its components.

•    PreRequisite programs (PRP)
These are the good hygiene practices that all those involved on site must implement.  Also, during hazard analysis, the organization determines the strategy to be used to ensure hazard control by combining prerequisite programs and the HACCP plan.

•    Interactive communication
This entails regular communication of the best practices and the rules to be adhered to. This calls for personnel awareness of the food safety stakes, training, etc.

In short, what Acti Pack and Loire Plastic Industrie seek to accomplish are to provide the safest packaging possible for consumers and ensure that all their safety standards are consistent.  WEBpackaging salutes their efforts!
