Neopac wins the ETMA Award for its Fleximed product line

At the ETMA (“European Tube Manufacturers Association“) conference in Brussels on 25th May 2012, Neopac won the prize “Tube of the Year, 2012“ in the category “prototype”. “We are very pleased that we have been awarded for this unique tube, which creates a new standard in parenteral packaging “, said Martina Christiansen, Head of Marketing and Sales Pharma, about this success.

Neopac impressed the jury with Fleximed®, a range of transparent, flexible, medical tubes that serve as a smart alternative to glass for parenteral packaging.  Fleximed tubes offer valuable benefits in terms of ease, reliability and safety of medical administration.

Fleximed Luerlock, fitted with a male Luer Lock, eliminates the need for syringes to release medication from the vial.  Instead, by removing the seal, medical staff can quickly pour the medicinal product directly from the medical tube into the catheter or IV bag.  Alternatively, with Fleximed Vial, the tube can be directly connected to a syringe for immediate and seamless distribution of medication, so there is no need to change needles.

Neopac also created Fleximed Easymix, a tube with two or more chambers to mix different components (dry/liquid or liquid/liquid).  In doing so, Neopac addressed its customers’ needs for easy mixing of two or more components immediately before application.

The new Fleximed tubes are engineered with materials that satisfy the strict requirements of the pharmaceutical industry.  Their tungsten-free primary packaging materials were made specifically for this market.  The tubes can be sterilized using radiation.

Plus, the tubes are lined with a high-barrier transparent laminate.  They are produced in Switzerland under fully qualified clean room conditions.
