Rexam cans rock at this year’s Austrian outdoor events

With the summer months fast approaching and hundreds of outdoor festivals beginning across Europe, Ottakringer the Austrian beer brand, have introduced ‘Ottarocker’ in Rexam’s 500ml aluminium cans produced in Enzesfeld.

Ottarocker has been introduced to target consumers attending this summer’s rock festivals in Austria and uses Rexam’s matt varnish printing technique to enhance the appeal of the can and stand out from the crowd. The simple, yet premium design of the can will appeal to the consumer looking to make a statement.

The can is the ideal beverage package for outdoor events and Ottakringer realised the benefits of providing their product in a can to meet the convenience needs of their target consumer.

It is well known that outdoor events create a lot of rubbish and waste and the importance of protecting the environment, as well making sure visitors are safe is a key factor for event organisers.

Unlike glass, the can is unbreakable with no risk of injuring visitors if they drop the product. This benefit has already been realised across countries such as Germany too, at events such as ‘Loveparade’.

The unbreakable and light weight benefits of the can aren’t the only positive points for outdoor festivals and in particular rock concerts. The can’s environmental credentials play a big part too. The can is 100% recyclable, meaning that the whole of the packaging can be recycled and made back in to a can or other metal objects over and over again with no loss of quality.
