Rexam Beverage Can - Europe & AsiaFor the first time in Coca-Cola’s Great British history, a unique 330ml, limited edition, charity can on behalf of the non-profit organisation, Peace One Day. 1.1million of the limited edition cans have been produced by Rexam, the world’s leading beverage can manufacturer, featuring the Peace One Day logo and the message to consumers, “What will you do?”
As part of the Peace One Day campaign, the making of the cans, at Rexam’s Wakefield plant, was filmed, to document the story and partnership between Cola-Cola Great Britain and Peace One Day. The limited edition cans were also produced at Rexam’s Milton Keynes plant.
Lucy Gilbert, who works for Rexam Beverage Can UK and is responsible for the Coca-Cola UK account, was present at the filming and was delighted Rexam could be involved. She commented, “It was a great pleasure to be able to support Coca-Cola Great Britain in this worthwhile cause with the introduction of the Peace One Day can. I work with Coca-Cola on a daily basis, but the day of filming was an opportunity to partner with the brand on something very special.
“Our Plant Manager at Wakefield, Michael Waite, and the Assistant Plant Manager, Dean Toomey, made sure that the filming was a great success and that the can making process was well documented.”
Michelle Atkinson, Senior Brand manager for My Coke commented, “There is no official release date for when the can making process will be documented but it has played an important part in our relationship with Peace One Day this year and we are delighted with the outcome.”
