The 98% product evacuation offered by Rieke Dispensing’s Airless HVDS was the key factor behind Mölnlycke Health Care’s selection of the pack for the UK launch of its new Epaderm cream.

The new Epaderm cream, a 2-in-1 emollient, bath additive and skin cleanser for eczema, psoriasis and dry skin.

Rieke’s Airless HVDS technology has been specifically developed for the effective dispense of creams and lotions with a very high viscosity. Traditionally, the inability of these types of products to self level means that conventional pumps tend to draw product from the centre of the container leaving large amounts of residue clinging to the side. This results in product that cannot be accessed and is therefore wasted.

To avoid this, the Airless HVDS dispenser uses a combination of airless and piston-up technology to push product up from the bottom of the container. This delivers a superior performance compared to standard pumps or follower-plate-down systems to achieve at least 98% product evacuation. As well as reducing product and packaging waste, this also means treatments become more cost-effective.

For manufacturers, the top filling dispensing pack ensures a simple filling operation.

Rieke’s Airless HVDS full range now comprises 14 pack sizes from 15g to 1kg, with dose options from 0.25ml to 4ml. Rieke is also supplying a travel-friendly 50g size for Epaderm.
