Weatherchem proudly announces participation in the FPA-Safe Program
Weatherchem, an innovative manufacturer of convenient plastic dispensing closures and controlled access packaging, is proud to announce their participation in the FPA-SAFE (Supplier Audits for Food Excellence) Program. In existence since 2002, the Food Products Association (FPA) is the largest trade association representing the food and beverage industry worldwide. The FPA-SAFE Program was created by a diverse group of leading food companies that collectively designed a comprehensive food quality and safety audit system. This program provides suppliers with a consistent evaluation of a company’s entire food quality and safety system. Leading Consumer-Packaged-Goods (CPG) companies, such as McCormick, Kraft and Nestles rely on this program to confirm that their suppliers’ comply with the demanding safety and security standards.
Mark Zwolinski, Director of Quality Assurance, who instituted the FPA-SAFE program at Weatherchem explains, “With an established ISO 9001 Quality System in place, this was the next vital step in meeting our customers’ increased food safety expectations. When placing controls necessary to ensure the integrity of the food chain, it definitely has reinforced our employees’ awareness concerning food safety.”
When preparing for the audit, the employees at Weatherchem embraced the program and worked as a collaborative team in implementing the new audit system. “Our employees’ commitment and teamwork was significant in making the audit process so successful. Weatherchem will continue to promote food safety to meet our customers’ safety and security requirements,” remarks Jennifer Altstadt, President of Weatherchem.
