Kanebo chooses Rexam to enrich its face make-up line Aqua in China, with “Aqua Dual Eye Shadow” and “Aqua Color Cheeks” compactsRexam was Kanebo’s partner in making a modern, elegant and glowing compact packaging solution to launch their latest blush and eye shadow in China. Two versions are available in the line and called “Aqua Dual Eyeshadow” and “Aqua Color Cheeks”.

Rexam successfully accomplished this exclusive compact, answering both design and technology challenges required by Kanebo to answer the brand’s concept: Free Your Beauty.

The greatest challenges with this packaging lay with both the injection process and the process implemented for the assembly and decoration:

  • Perfectly harnessed injection of a high and different thickness cover in PMMA which gives a glamorous crystal effect, and enables shade evidence of the pink pearl internal lacquering inside the cover. A simple logo of “Aqua” applied on the top in silver hot stamping expresses the brand’s unique image.

  • Precision assembly achieved in using an ultra-sonic welding to guarantee the qualitative fitting of the inner tray and base, mirror with cap.

  • High quality finishing requiring a very fine internal pink pearl UV lacquering in the inner part of the cover: the difficulty was to have a very homogeneous internal lacquering finishing on this part ,the outer clear part enabling shade evidence of this inner lacquered part. Base is UV lacquered with this same pink pearl colour to secure the very refined and elegant effect.
