Post Consuming Recycling material (PCR) by PET-Power
PET-Power work as a team with Sales, Production and Quality to implement new developments. One of the recent developments that has been tested and can further be implemented is the Post Consuming Recycling material (PCR). The department Business Development & Technology of PET-Power is responsible for Product Development (Customs and Standards) and market driven Business Development based on new technologies and materials.
In favour of environmental reasons there is a market need to introduce this material in various applications in their market segments. Test results show that the selected PCR material can be used with their present tooling and machinery. The only influence visually is the colour (see-attached picture left 100% PET / Right 100% PCR).
The selected mechanically recycled PCR material can be used for Food applications according to the new European regulation EC 1935/2004. This regulation states that the use of recycled materials and articles should be favoured for environmental reasons, if strict requirements are established to ensure food safety and consumer protection.
