YSL used the pack for their Eclat de Givre eyeshadow, a product that turns from a powder form into a creamy shadow upon application onto the skin. Originally available in three colours, Eclat de Givre was a huge success because of its ability to function as a cream eyeshadow without mess or extra bulk for the customer.

The key is in its ingenious applicator. The retractable function prevents the powder and applicator from meeting and compressing thereby causing friction that would render the product useless. By keeping the applicator in the lid, the solution is protected making unintended activation of the powder impossible. The applicator is spring loaded with a black sponge tip made from Rubicell. The sponge works in unison with the ultra-fine powder to guarantee the product’s adherence to the applicator. The cap is fashioned from ABS with an aluminum overshell. Aluminum foil works with the spring stem assembly rendering the component airtight when closed.
