In business for 25 years, OSI is headquartered in Irvine, CA with strategically located manufacturing facilities in Aurora, IL and Memphis, TN totaling over 150K sq ft of production and assembly capacity.

Most of the product lines offered by OSI's packaging division focus on solutions for material reduction and environmental sustainability. Delivering innovative ideas and alternative packaging solutions to market is one of OSI's key corporate objectives. After three and a half years of research and development, OSI has successfully been able to introduce a new eco-friendly material for use in packaging, printing and POS materials called NatureStone™. NatureStone™ is their latest material option for use in packaging and POS. The new material offers multiple benefits to the environment, retailers, and consumers.

NatureStone™ is used in place of PVC and other materials and offers an excellent printing surface and in addition to its ability to reduce the packaging’s overall carbon footprint. NatureStone™ is composed primarily out of ground limestone or calcium carbonate with a trace amount of non-toxic resin as a bonding agent. Limestone is a naturally abundant resource, since 15% of the earth’s crust is composed of limestone. Packaging made with NatureStone™ when disposed or recycled will degrade into it's original mineral state and back into the Earth or recycled. The manufacturing process is also extremely eco-conscious in that it requires very low energy, consumes no water, and does not require cooking, chemical bleaching or chlorine processing, unlike traditional paper-making. In printing, it requires less ink and allows for the highest print quality. NatureStone™ is environmentally responsible, economical and extraordinary.

Recently, One Source Industries worked with one of their customers - Canon USA, in developing a solution to convert several of their existing ink cartridge packages into a more "Green" package using NatureStone™. Canon USA is committed from the top down toward their environmental responsibilities and has launched a recent initiative called "Generation Green" that aims to reduce the environmental burdens in all stages of a product’s lifecycle. Canon's goal is to produce “Environmentally Conscious Products with the Next Generation In Mind.”

When Canon U.S.A. transitioned their ink cartridge packaging from traditional PVC clamshells to One Source’s ImPak (TM) NatureStone (TM) package, Canon U.S.A. became one of OSI’s latest success stories.

To substantiate the tremendous environmental benefits of the NatureStone™ material and quantify sourcing reductions of this new packaging, OSI contracted an outside firm to provide an LCA (life cycle analysis) report. The results from this LCA report were very positive and provide the data Canon U.S.A. to declare the following:
