BCP Patersons Ltd has consolidated its position as one of the Europe’s leading manufacturers of confectionery packaging.
The formation of a strategic relationship with German counter-part ABS Packmittel has been negotiated following on from BCP’s acquisition of the former Paterson’s Packaging business following its liquidation last year.
The new partnership reflects the growth aspirations of both companies providing BCP with greater capacity to meet market demand and ABS with a robust and credible partner to grow their interest in the UK and Ireland.
In addition to the BCP Patersons facility in Glasgow, the partnership now offers two further cushion pad machines. Based in Langgons, Germany, ABS convert food grade papers into cushion pads from two to nine ply, with small or large ball embossed profile.
The partnership will draw upon over 40 years of combined experience in cushion pad manufacture. An impressive customer base includes Ferrero, Masterfoods, Nestle, Kraft Foods, Tom’s Group, Fox’s Biscuits and Thorntons.
Both BCP Patersons and ABS Packmittel have worked with their customers to develop the highest quality cushion pads. The trading partnership offers innovative solutions, cost effective production and a high level of customer service. With enquiries handled by the sales office in Blackburn, BCP Patersons are the only UK company with access to three cushion pad machines, complimented by a four colour flexo press designed for top layer prints, with die cutting options to provide pads in all shapes and sizes.
The in-line die cutting process can produce square and rectangular pads in one action – the pads are layered, dried and cut to size in one process. Off-line die-cutting involves taking the layered pads off the machine and cutting them to shape in a separate process – this is particularly advantageous for clients requiring pads of unusual shapes for tinned biscuits and confectionery.
