The time when shaving cream, toothpaste and shower gel were enough to satisfy men's personal care requirements are probably past for ever. It is pleasing to note the growing variety in the field of men's cosmetics. The attractive innovations on show at interpack in the segment of male cosmetics include a Nivea-blue glass flacon produced by Gerresheimer and filled by Beiersdorf with Revitalising Eye Crème Q10.
As part of the Nivea For Men Face Care range this product not only cares for and revitalises the delicate skin around the eye but is also presented in a flacon which is very easy on the eye. With its slim but striking shape, the flacon initially attracts attention through the classic shimmering style of its blue and silver get-up. The glass container is sprayed from top to foot in silky matt blue and topped by a plastic cap with metallic allure, reflecting the same even, soft glow. The overall shape is also harmoniously coordinated and particularly attractive: "It rather evokes a squaring of the circle", says Burkhard Lingenberg, Director of Corporate PR and Marketing for the Gerresheimer Group.
The square is formed by the base while the cap takes a circular form, and yet these two opposites merge in perfect unity. The shape of the glass flacon gradually changes as it moves from the base to the top. The pronounced angular lines of the glass base gradually merge upwards into a softer line which at the shoulder matches the round form of the plastic cap. Through this subtle transition the flacon appears to taper a little: hardly perceptibly but just enough to give this good-looking newcomer an additional frisson.
