Thanks to a two year collaboration between Autobar Packaging and PDC Europe it is now possible to realise a sleeve price reduction of around 25% over the traditional PVC, PET and OPS shrink sleeves.The Super Stretch Sleeve, brand name Cold Sleeve, is a highly elastic stretch sleeve (40% elasticity ratio). This innovation enables full-body sleeve to decorate shaped bottles, jars, tubs ranging from 150ml up to 5 litres. The LDPE sleeves are printed in high quality flexo in up to 8 colours and are applied without the need for either heat or glue.
Due to a highly innovative R&D department, Autobar Packaging formulates its own unique film formulations, with the Cold Sleeve being the latest in-house development. Autobars manufacturing facility embraces the full stretch sleeve production operation from extrusion, printing and through to the final sleeve conversion process.
Autobar Packaging employs the latest high speed flexo printing equipment producing high quality print to 8 colours maximum. A range of printing inks enable stretch sleeves to meet the most demanding conditions –humidity, corrosive liquids, UV, freezer conditions, etc.
Before launching any new design, Autobar Packaging offers numerically printed sleeves to enable marketing and technical teams to assess the feasibility of the project and to undertake test marketing surveys.
Cold Sleeve can only be used on some PDC EUROPE stretch sleeving applicating machines, noted for their ease of set up, reliability and high output efficiency.
Cold sleever is not only an economical solution it is completely recyclable. It is easily recycled with HDPE containers and the LDPE chips are easily removed from the flow when recycling PET containers. Furthermore this sleeve offers tremendous energy savings as no heat tunnel is required to shrink the sleeve on to the container.
