The pack is activated once it is opened and messages can be recorded in any language. These can be developed to state the name of a brand of medicine, the number of tablets, when a patient should take the dose etc. This feature is expected to be a major support for packaging requiring Braille and provide additional security for the partially sighted.

A number of proto-types with a recording time capacity of 30 seconds are currently under development. It can be produced in a wide range of sizes and shapes as well as a complete range of substrates from carton-board to plastic. A packaging machinery solution is also being investigated by Field Packaging Systems to automatically pack and assemble this special pack.
