Introducing the H.I.T. - the Huber Integrated Tap for easy and clever tapping, one of the most innovative products in today’s beverages market is the 5-litre party keg with integrated tap, developed in-house by Huber Verpackungen, providing fresh draught beer wherever and whenever required, without any additional equipment or fittings.More than 30 years ago Huber Verpackungen presented its first 5-litre party keg for draught beer. A new way of enjoying beer had been born. Now draught beer could be served fresh on tap for parties and barbecues, a welcome alternative to standard barrels and cans. The only problem was that a tap device was also required.
With this revolutionary idea Huber Verpackungen has set new standards.
In 1998 the first party keg with a built-in tap stormed onto the market and has become an international success story.
The idea met the wishes of consumers. An easy and straightforward way to enjoy draught beer, spontaneously and without the need for complicated accessories. Its convenience is the main selling point for purchasers.
When the product was launched, this benefit to the consumer led to an extraordinary surge in demand for the new keg, prompting the company to spend over €18 million on setting up a new manufacturing plant in Öhringen in 1999.
So this user-friendly innovation quickly attracted the attention of leading breweries and beer lovers throughout the world. Even the long and often costly process of transporting the unfilled kegs to Australia or South America, for example, has not diminished the success of the party keg. Over 130 different brands of beer are sold in the H.I.T. keg, from international brands to regional specialities, pale ales, pils, fizzy wheatbeer, Koelsch (strong, pale beer brewed in Cologne) or top-fermented dark beers, there is something for every taste.
In addition, the worldwide export of filled party kegs opens up new markets and target groups. Also for use as a promotional or bonus item, the 5-litre party keg is ideally suited. The large decorative surface on the keg can help create a promotional brand presence in every kind of store.
In 2006 the party keg has reached – among other things due to the football World Cup in Germany - an unprecedented boom in sales. Lots of soccer fans will celebrate a great soccer-festival and follow the matches with fresh draught beer out of a Huber party keg with built-in tap.
Innovations by Huber Verpackungen will lead to a further growing market for party kegs. Intelligent packing systems will strengthen the trend for fresh draught beer all over the world.
