The collaboration between the two companies has already resulted in two ExxonMobil OPPack Awards of the Month before the rectangular biscuit flowwrap made by AF Schüpbach for Kägi’s Fretli and Milano wafers was chosen for the annual award.

The OPPack awards were created by ExxonMobil Chemical Films Europe to recognise partnerships and reward industry excellence and are presented for products that display the highest level of distinction in creativity, performance and promotion, using ExxonMobil’s wide range of films.

The high barrier, reverse gravure printed, partial cold seal coated two-ply laminate of transparent coextruded OPP film and metallised white ExxonMobil OPPalyte film from AF Schüpbach replaces the previous, more traditional foil and paper overwrap. The new structure provides an excellent barrier to moisture, light and odour whilst sealing in the wafers’ freshness and taste. The new pack also increases line speed, leading to better productivity for Kägi, and the warm colourful design and its easy opening teartape creates greater appeal for consumers.
