The typical end user application is the horizontal formfill- seal packaging process (HFFS), primarily using OPP films to overwrap chocolate bars. Cold seal adhesive applied on the reverse side of OPP film allows customers to seal by pressure without temperature impact, which increases the speed of packaging machines and the efficiency of packaging lines. Along with rotogravure printing, Mondi Packaging also offers a unique flexo printing alternative in which a roto station for the application of cold seal adhesive is positioned in-line on the flexo press. This enables customers to choose between the two printing technologies and to achieve costs savings in pre-press as well as in the converting process.
