Kikkoman's switch to PET
The leading brand in Japanese Soya Sauce, Kikkoman, has taken the step to
change their 1.0 Litre glass bottle to a newly designed PET bottle produced
by PET Power.With the increasing demands especially in the European catering industry the convenience that the PET bottle offers outshines the glass bottle in every respect. Being unbreakable the PET pack has a great advantage when being used in the kitchen and the lightweight of the PET pack gives great benefits for transportation in Export markets. Within a tight timeframe PETPower was able to develop a complete new preform and a special designed blowmould in time to produce the first samples. After optimalisation of Kikkoman’s production line in Sappermeer - the Netherlands, for the PET pack production now runs smooth and export of the 1.0 L Soya Sauce bottle throughout the whole of Europe has started.
