In 2005, NESTLE WATERS decides to adopt the new BERICAP flip-top sport cap closure- the THUMB’UP- for their 33cl kids formats in EUROPE, VITALITOS and AQUAREL brands. This choice was aimed to fulfil several complementary functions including practicality and more security for this young age consumer’s oriented segment.THUMB’UP closure reinforced the success of these recent brands on the market.
In 2006, VITTEL brand decides to renovate its historic square bottle by adopting a new dynamic round design. The new VITTEL SPORT bottle is now born for the pleasure of active people and of course equipped with the THUMB’UP closure, for more convenience to use with one hand when practicing sport activities. By adopting a flip top system- without any loose part, VITTEL is also demonstrating its commitment to develop more environmentally friendly packaging.
The THUMB’UP is made of two pieces injected parts, securely on-line assembled in BERICAP France clean room conditions.
The hinge between the overcap and the base does not break even after several elongations and twists. Its unique design allows a wide distance, when opened, between the overcap and the pourer for an optimal drinking consumer comfort.
The tamper system, trough a frontal tear off band, is obvious after the first opening.
The two-component design of the closure allows a possible combination of colours with a higher marketing impact than one-piece closures from the market. The overcap polypropylene resin is translucent then recalling the purity of the water product; the resins used on each part of the THUMB’UP are taintless for water.
The high tightness performances of the THUMB’UP make the bottles using such closure adapted to modern and long logistics circuits, thus allowing palette stacking of water bottles.
