Customized Polymer Packaging Solutions
The purpose the Polymer Packaging Solutions is to protect a wide variety of sensitive products, including
pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, nutraceuticals and
electronics, from moisture and breakage, and to increase
the functionality of these products.
Süd-Chemie’s line of polymer packaging solutions (PPS) includes rigid, customizable products, such as hinge-cap tubes, diagnostic kit components, dispensers, dosers, washers, inserts and other packaging options, developed around four main objectives:
Protection: Protecting products from moisture, humidity, UV light and other harmful elements.
Dispensing: Allowing easy dispensing of products like diagnostic test strips, granulars, tablets and powders.
Safety: Protecting end users with safety options like tamper-evidency, hedged caps, child resistant packaging and smart packaging solutions like RFID and inks.
Information: Informing end users and heightening brand awareness with offset printing, labeling, engraving or laser printing.
The efficacy and quality of goods like diagnostic test kits, pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals can be compromised if exposed to dust, dirt or moisture. When exposed to moisture, granulars can begin to clump, test strips can become unreliable, and pills can become ineffective. With PPS, manufacturers can not only protect their products, but also make their products easier to use and more appealing to the end consumer.
PPS products are customized to meet individual customer demands, making the available configurations literally endless. Süd-Chemie’s team can also develop products made of its patented 2AP desiccant polymer material, which combines the advantages of traditional polymers – such as rigid protection and ergonomic design – with the benefits of advanced moisture protection built directly into their polymer walls.
