Crown unleashed design possibilities with Textureplay sample kits

Crown unleashed design possibilities with Textureplay sample kitsCROWN Aerosols Europe, a subsidiary of Crown Holdings, Inc., has released a special design kit containing samples of aerosol cans featuring a range of innovative decorative finishes. Packaged in striking metal tins from CROWN Speciality Packaging and produced in conjunction with Imperial Chemical Industries, plc., PPG Industries, Schekolin AG, Merck KGaA, Valspar Corporation and Plastique Ltd., these samples are part of Crown’s new TexturePlay™ initiative, aimed at providing inspiration to package designers and brand marketers seeking novel ways to differentiate products on store shelves.

Each TexturePlay™ sample kit contains a variety of aerosol cans that showcase next-generation decorative finishes and feature images of children laughing and playing with toys of different forms and tactile properties. Depending on the specific application and desired result, designers and marketing managers can choose from several new TexturePlay™ technologies. Pearlescent finish provides aerosol cans with a soft, glowing effect, while color-change finish can instantly transform colors from brilliant to soft with a simple rotation of the package. In addition, sparkle finish offers a premium yet retro-industrial look, and soft touch over-varnish creates a highly tactile matte effect that encourages consumers to reach out, touch and examine products.

“By nature, aerosol containers are dispensing systems, which makes them one of the few forms of packaging that consumers truly interact with. As a result, outward appearance and feel are extremely important factors in establishing a positive brand image and capturing consumer attention at retail,” explains Lee Bradley, Business Development Manager, CROWN Aerosols Europe. “TexturePlay™ is geared toward helping marketers and package designers address these issues when launching a new product or refreshing the look of an existing brand. Showcasing an array of aesthetic and tactile design possibilities, TexturePlay™ sample kits can help foster the type of creativity necessary to engage consumers and give brands the competitive edge.”
