Effective January, 2007, the Transportation and Security Administration (TSA) reminds all U.S. citizens that they need a passport to travel by air to Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean islands as well as all other foreign countries. A birth certificate or driver’s license will no longer be accepted as proof of citizenship. In addition, all carry-on liquids and gels must follow the 3-1-1 rule: 3.4-oz or less/container may be stored inside one quart-sized, clear plastic bag—one per passenger.
