CARGO Cosmetics introduces PlantLove

CARGO Cosmetics introduces PlantLoveCARGO Cosmetics is proud to launch PlantLove lipstick, a lipstick packaged in a compostable tube made entirely from corn. PlantLove is a product you can feel good about on every level, including eco-friendly packaging and a botanical formula.

In addition, a portion of proceeds goes to CARGO's charity of choice, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital(R). PlantLove(TM) has even inspired Hollywood to go green with six celebrity-designed shades.

"We are extremely proud to offer our consumers an eco-friendly lipstick option and encourage other industries to consider packaging innovations that are kinder to our environment," states CARGO president, Hana Zalzal.

The lipstick tube is made from PLA (Polylactic Acid), the first polymer made entirely from corn, a renewable resource, instead of traditional petroleum-based plastic. NatureWorks(R) PLA is the first greenhouse-gas-neutral polymer on the market and thus helps in the fight against global warming (man-made emissions of greenhouse gases are widely believed to be the most significant contributor to global climate change.)

Even the outer box is eco-friendly. The carton is made with biodegradable paper infused with flower seeds. Simply moisten the packaging and plant. In weeks, a beautiful arrangement of wild flowers will grow.

The lipstick formula is environmentally friendly, containing no mineral oils or petroleum. The botanical formulation contains Orchid extract, Jojoba, Shea butter and Vitamin E, to moisturize lips, and reduce the appearance of fine lines.

Feel good packaging is only the beginning of this groundbreaking collection. CARGO is donating $2 from every sale to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital(R). CARGO creator Hana Zalzal believes, "The seeds we sow today affect future generations so we are investing in the earth and our children for the future of the planet."

To help support this groundbreaking launch, six celebrities donated their time and creativity to PlantLove(TM). Each actress collaborated with CARGO to perfect the color, finish and formula of their personal shade. For their efforts, these six shades will be named after the corresponding celebrity: Courteney Cox, Lindsay Lohan, Mariska Hargitay, Maria Menounos, Evangeline Lilly and Sarah Chalke. The other six shades were named after places of ecological beauty.
