Rexam successfully focused its different lines of global expertise to create a gloss case sporting an ultra-modern design – a square shape with a semi-transparent/semi-metallic finish in Dior Addict blue on the cap, and a high-quality brush.

Proposing a comprehensive solution made possible by global know-how, Rexam supplied Dior with a full package for the launch of Dior “Addict Ultra-Gloss Reflect”, the latest in the line of Addict de Dior lip glosses.

Exclusive know-how for the harnessing of injection technology, high-quality assembly and surface treatment finishing was employed by Rexam to manufacture this gloss case, an innovation that is both “high-tech” and “high-fashion”.

Perfectly harnessed injection

of the bottle in crystal material with a magnifying glass effect took full account of different thicknesses. The shine on the bottle was enhanced by applying a protective transparent varnish.

Ultra-sonic welding

of the threaded collar and bottle, plus meticulous assembly of the collar, bottle and gasket – a high-precision combination of two skills – ensured that the product was perfectly airtight.

Custom high-speed assembly

was introduced to handle a complex product made from 6 parts.

The ultra-modern finish was achieved using:

1) Metareflectâ high quality treatment on the cap and threaded collar to give a fascinating visual paradox, combining a semi-metallic and semi-transparent effect. Rexam's patented Metareflectâ process uses a very special style of metallization: the layer of vacuum-placed atoms is thin enough not to appear opaque but still ensures metallic reflections at all angles.
2) Shiny silver metallization on the top with the brand's initials engraved to provide an elegant hallmark.
