Customised weighing and quality control for individual packet soups

A customised multihead weigher and X-ray inspection system from Ishida are major components of a new packing line for instant dried soups. The line installed at leading Swiss manufacturer HACO AG includes an Ishida linear multihead weigher and IX-GA X-ray inspection system, supplied by Ishida’s Swiss agent Itech AG. The 12-head linear weigher processes the soup ingredients at a speed of up to 170 weighments per minute with a weighing accuracy of 0.1g.

Amcor completes acquisition of Bemis, creating the global leader in packaging

Amcor has announced the successful completion of its acquisition of Bemis Company Inc., effective 11 June 2019. The combined company will now operate as Amcor Plc (Amcor), trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol “AMCR” and the Australian Securities Exchange under the ticker symbol “AMC.” Amcor is included in both the S&P 500 and S&P/ASX 200 indices.

ALPLA Caribe and Fortiflex form strategic alliance

Tetra Pak becomes first carton packaging company to launch paper straws in Europe

Tetra Pak has announced that customers have started field testing its paper straws for beverage products in Europe. The move means Tetra Pak is the first carton packaging company to provide such straws for beverage cartons in the region. Made from FSC certified paper and recyclable with the rest of the package, the new paper straw will be available initially for two small size carton packages commonly used for dairy and beverage products for children.

Pernod Ricard is partnering with Guala Closures to support The Malibu Games 2019 by rolling out 300,000 bottles with connected closures for the first time in the US. The new Malibu limited-edition connected bottles will be circulated in the states of Ohio and Texas, featuring Guala Closures’ pioneering smart bottle cap. The connected closures will give consumers access to value-added extras.

ACMI's glass lines for F.lli Martini

ACMI installed two glass lines at the F.lli Martini Secondo Luigi di Cossano Belbo winery, in the province of Cuneo, to bottle the precious wine of the Langhe. The rather complex project involved the construction of a new production area of approximately 5,000 square metres to accommodate the two lines of 36,000 and 15,000 bottles per hour.
