Interview with Clémentine Goossens-Fontaine, NailArt Blogger of Quiche Girl

As the autumn season begins, brands have come out with their fall collections. Essie is no exception, and has even proposed two collections in shop displays: the autumn collection and the mat cashmere collection.

For the little world of NPAs (Nail Polish Addicts), this collection is already well known as it premiered last spring in the US. As I am fortunate and often travel to the States, I succombed to the temptation and bought two of them.

Unfortunately… like all the non-French Essies, they have a thin brush (and maybe a different formulation), and a thin brush means more laborious application (yet I change and apply a new nail polish every 24 to 48h!). So I put them away and didn’t think about them any more as the semi-matte "cashmere" effect was missing owing to the uneven application.

As I have a real weakness for these little bottles of solvents, I am ashamed to say I fell for the same colour when I saw it in my local Monoprix.

And this time: miracle! Fluid application, no lumps or holes, no brush lines! I can finally enjoy the finish and, unlike the US version, did not have to apply one or two layers of top coat to hide the imperfections (and obviously loose the semi-matte effect of the nail polish…). In a nutshell, the French touch remains a must!
