Airopack has been added to the list of products that received the label "Climatop." The aim of Climatop is to label the most climate friendly products and services (best-in-class).

Similar products of a product family (functional unit) are compared with respect to their environmental emissions. Products that cause CO2-eq emissions that are generally 20% lower only receive the label. Only products that have an environmental balance, which is at least equal or better than the one of the non-successful competitors, can be labelled.

Analysis of the Life Cycle
This fact sheet shows the results of the life cycle analysis of greenhouse gas emission and the relevant environmental parameters.

The greenhouse gas emission data were collected over the entire life cycle of the product, i.e. of the provision of raw materials to the transportation, to the production in the factory through to the usage and the disposal of the product. This life cycle analysis shows the environmental advantage of Airopack compared to conventional aerosols dispensers containing shaving gel.

Functional unit:
The comparison of the environmental impact of the Airopack with the conventional aerosol, Alu Can BOV, was done for 200 mL shaving gel cans. The functional unit was chosen as 1 unit of 200 mL for the comparison.

Climatop certification
This is the first life cycle analysis of the Airopack System and conventional aerosol systems conducted by climatop. Both sys- tems include shaving gel. The life cycle analysis shows that the Airopack system can be awarded with the label „approved by climatop“. The award remains valid for two years, afterwards an re-evaluation is necessary.
