Albéa produces the new “Dior Addict” lipstick for Dior

The House of Dior has put its trust in Albéa’s expertise for the production of its new generation Dior Addict lipstick. The new version of the Dior Addict lipstick range features an updated mechanism and completely new design.

From Albéa’s standard offering, Dior selected a slim mechanism with a diameter smaller than that of a conventional mechanism. The shape is slanted at its tip and acts like a sheath, perfectly melding with the formula: this supports and protects it more effectively. The mechanism is specifically adapted to the new lipstick developed by Dior, which boasts a creamier texture.

Operating with the same concept as the previous Dior Addict range, the lipstick features a mechanism with an ABS plastic base that bears the CD emblem and a cap that fits over the mechanism.

This exceptional cap, which echoes the design of a fine jewelry box, is made up of 4 parts:

    • The two parts that make up the cap interior are made of silver-plated ABS plastic.
    • The outside parts which make up the ring and the rest of cap are made of Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), a transparent thermoplastic that recreates the look of glass.

For a finishing touch: the cap features special metallization that creates an iridescent pink effect which is simultaneously subtle and beautiful, and even-looking all over its surface.

The product represented a true technical challenge for the Albéa teams in terms of the mechanism and the design, all of which was accomplished in record time. This lipstick is being manufactured at one of the company's French industrial sites located in Plouhinec in the region of Brittany.
