New Berry PET Standards Meet Market Demands

  • Berry Global

To meet growing demand for larger size pack formats for cleaning and hygiene products, Berry M&H has expanded its popular Midi Tubular range with the introduction of new 300ml and 500ml PET versions.

The design of the containers features a wide base to maximise stability, allowing ease of use with both pumps and dispensing closures and making them suitable for a variety of products such as liquid soaps, sanitisers and disinfectants. The wide decoration area provides excellent opportunities for individual branding, while the clarity of PET enables products to be highly visible on-shelf.

In addition, to help customers meet their sustainability goals, as well as the requirements of the UK Plastics Packaging Tax, the containers can be produced in post-consumer recycled (PCR) material in quantities from 30%.

Both sizes can be specified with either a 24/410 or 24/415 neck, with the 24mm opening allowing quick and easy filling. Berry M&H also offers a choice of flip-top caps and lotion pumps, which help to facilitate one-handed use, as well as providing customers with a complete container and closure solution.

The new containers join the current selection of Midi Tubular HDPE packs, which are available in five sizes from 50ml to 500ml, offering increased choice and the opportunity for companies to create family ranges across their product lines.

Berry Global partnered with Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company, Inc. to improve the recyclability of food packaging with MXD6, a high-performance barrier solution for extruded articles, such as thermoformed items and extruded plastic tubes and bottles. The MXD6 barrier is recyclable up to 12% and received Critical Guidance recognition from the Association of Plastics Recyclers (APR), validating its compatibility with the Polypropylene (PP) recycling stream.
