Clariant unveils hot-off-the-press unique color solutions for non-impact printing at drupa 2016

    • More organic colorant innovations for digital printing hot-spots
    • New magenta Eco grades for Ink Jet inks & electrophotographic toners
    • Meet Clariant in Hall 03 Booth C69, May 31 - June 10, 2016

Clariant’s latest colorant solutions unveiled at drupa 2016 bring fresh innovation to industry demands for cost-efficiency, more color stability, a broader color spectrum, and improvements to the safety and environmental impact of high-performance digital printing. Target applications include magazines, brochures, posters, textiles, packaging and labeling.

New structural chlorine-free, brilliant magenta pigment for digital printing: Toner Magenta F9B LV 6026 enables ink producers to use just the one pigment to achieve a color shade significantly closer to the desired magenta than comparable current magentas, and thus avoids the need for expensive mixing. Its tinctorial strength and high chroma improves print quality in combination with the other primary colors. The balance of cost-efficiency, color brilliancy and good environmental profile in one pigment system is a first for a digital magenta.

New yellow pigments close the gap in cost, fastness and instability: Clariant’s two complementary, economical yellow pigments for digital printing – Toner Yellow 3GP-CT VP5156 and Toner Yellow 5GXT – are based on pigment Yellow 155 and pigment Yellow 74. They set themselves apart in the market by providing high-performance qualities such as color shade and transparency in CYMK printing, required fastness and favorable stability for the various application systems of inkjet and electrophotographic printing.

New red and green pigment water-based preparations for a greater range of colors: Clariant has introduced the two additional color shades to its established, dedicated range of water-based pigment preparations for inkjet printing. The new shades expand the classical CMYK color spectrum to help customers reproduce more of the color spectrum and improve print quality for publication printing like magazines, flyers, and transactional printing or high-fidelity textile printing, for example. The excellent compatibility of different preparations while mixing also allows targeted color shades to be nuanced and targeted spot colors to be formulated.

New complementary Eco quinacridone pigment grades for inkjet inks and electrophotographic toners: Clariant has launched a selection of high-performance magenta pigments based on bio-succinic acid, one of the key building blocks of quinacridones, which will be offered in parallel to its conventional grades. The move opens up opportunities for its customers to improve their sustainability profile and differentiate their product offerings through the use of renewable-based colorants. Clariant is the first producer to develop high-performance pigments based on bio-succinic acid.

The new Eco grades for non-impact printing applications fulfill Clariant’s high sustainability standards, and are labeled with EcoTain®, the flagship label ofClariant for sustainability excellence products and solutions: Toner Magenta E-ECO VP 6006; Toner Magenta E02-ECO VP 6005; Ink Jet Magenta E02-ECO VP 6007.

Alexandre Baron, Regional Business Line Head North Asia and Vice President Sales and Marketing Printing and Non-Impact Printing, Clariant comments: “Our latest colorant solutions firmly underline our commitment to help customers capture new growth areas in the expanding arena of digital printing.Clariant is the provider of a dedicated sales range of colorants and preparations specifically for both inkjet and electrophotographic digital technologies.
