Sustainable Foods Summit Sao Paulo 2016

The 2nd Latin American edition of the Sustainable Foods Summit will focus on sustainable ingredients, food traceability, and tackling food waste. Taking place in Sao Paulo on 29-30th June, the summit will bring together leading organizations involved in sustainability and eco-labeling in the food industry.

With the food industry facing pressure to become more sustainable, what practical steps can be taken? What new sustainable ingredients are making their way into food and beverage applications? What developments are happening in sustainability schemes that provide traceability? What can be done to reduce food losses and waste? Such questions will be addressed in this new edition.

The Sustainable Foods Summit is a series of international summits that focuses on the leading issues the food industry faces concerning sustainability and eco-labels, such as Organic, Fair Trade, Rainforest Alliance, UTZ Certified, etc. The aim of the Sustainable Foods Summit is to explore new horizons for eco-labels and sustainability in the food industry by discussing key industry issues.

The premier edition of the Sustainable Foods Summit Latin America took place in March 2014. About 140 senior executives from the food industry convened in São Paulo to debate key sustainability issues. There were calls to develop local markets for sustainable foods in the Latin American region, as well as prevent a proliferation in sustainability schemes.
