  • In-house development: EPL laminate tube range Etain™ rPE with HDPE cap receives RecyClass certification
  • Environmentally friendly: Etain™ rPE tube material fully recyclable and classified in class A at RecyClass
  • EPL once again sets standards in sustainability and quality

EPL Europe, part of the global laminate and plastic tube manufacturer headquartered in Mumbai, has received another significant recognition in the field of sustainability. RecyClass, a leading initiative to promote and assess the recyclability of plastic packaging in Europe, has officially certified the innovative tube material Etain™ rPE with an HDPE closure. This recognition confirms that EPL's packaging is sorted in the HDPE rigid stream/'Code 2' and has achieved the highest RecyClass rating “Class A”.

The analysis and certification were carried out in compliance with the Design for Recycling Guidelines for HDPE Rigid. This once again makes EPL a pioneer in the development of its own sustainable and recognized packaging solutions.

"This certification is further proof of our commitment to developing environmentally friendly and sustainable packaging solutions," explains Thomas Holling, New Product Development Manager Europe.

"Etain™ rPE tubes not only offer our customers the opportunity to incorporate a significant recycled content into their packaging, but also to put less plastic into circulation overall thanks to the thinner wall thickness compared to extruded tubes. After use, the finished packaging can be returned to the recycling loop with the same value and without significant losses - an important step towards the circular economy."

The Etain™ rPE tubes are ideal for customers in the FMCG market, particularly for the cosmetics, household and oral hygiene segments, due to their material composition and are available with various sustainable closure options. They offer companies the opportunity to convert their product lines to more environmentally friendly packaging and thus make an important contribution to the circular economy. EPL is committed to continuous innovation and optimization of material properties to ensure the highest standards of recyclability.
