With more than 35 years of experience in manufacturing Child Resistant Closures (CRC) for the health care market, GCS has developed PharmaSafe®, a new light weight standard product. This cost effective CRC fully complies with ISO 8317 and is suitable for various product applications such as syrups.
Global Closure Systems’ expertise in the health care sector has enabled the group to develop a two piece tamper evident closure, produced and assembled on specific injection molding machines, whereas most of the CRCs available on the market are in three pieces and thus heavier. The design of PharmaSafe® has been optimised to provide enhanced convenience of both opening and closing operations and to ensure maximum security for consumers.
In addition to being a cost effective solution, PharmaSafe® carbon emissions are significantly lower than those of existing products. This standard PP 28 CRC can be adapted for either plastic or glass bottles and is available with either a plug or a liner. It is also available in different colours and with a dosing cup.
PharmaSafe® is manufactured on a dedicated production line at Astra Plastique, one of GCS’ brands in France, which has on site an ISO 7 clean room to meet the international standards and the demanding needs of the laboratories worldwide and to guarantee the best quality for GCS’ customers. GCS constantly monitors its raw material suppliers to check that they comply with these international standards to allow good product traceability.
PharmaSafe® has been selected by blue chip pharmaceutical companies and is exported to South America, Europe, and the Middle East. In the light of its success, Global Closure Systems plans to export this new cost effective CRC in the Maghreb area in 2014.
