FCE Pharma in São Paulo: Gerresheimer unveils user-friendly ideas for packaging

  • Gerresheimer

Gerresheimer has long ranked among the market leaders in Brazil. The specialist in glass and plastic primary packaging will present three products at this year's FCE Pharma in São Paulo (May 23-25, booth no. 641) showcasing how to make fantastic, tried-and-tested products even better. These include a tablet container with a compartment for information leaflets, a nifty aid for administering eye drops with ease and a closure that enables weaker hands to open a jar of tablets – great for the elderly yet still safe for children.

Space-saving leaflet compartment

Duma Combi is Gerresheimer's first tablet container to feature an integrated compartment for information leaflets, leaving plenty of room for an attractive label on the outside of the container for marketing purposes. Its rectangular design also means the container can be stacked, thus is  saving space during transport.

Suitable for children and the elderly

The application tool DropAid is incredibly easy to use, making it particularly suitable for children and the elderly. With its circular opening that perfectly fits the size and shape of the closure, it helps open bottles without the need for much strength or pressure. By clipping DropAid vertically onto the neck of the opened bottle using the semicircular notch, you can then place the bottle stably next to your eye to administer the correct number of drops. Gerresheimer's products for ophthalmic and nasal applications include LDPE bottles and droppers, CLC bottles and bottles for nasal sprays with nebulizers or pump systems. Other materials, sizes and designs are also available, with optional closures that are both safe for children and suitable for the elderly. DropAid can be used with any existing System A "dropper bottles" for ophthalmic applications.

New child-resistant and senior-friendly closure

The new Duma closure combines senior-friendly, child-resistant and tamper-evident features in one single closure. A pictogram on the closure explains the special opening mechanism that prevents children from being able to open it (child-resistant feature). A special video illustrates these functions.
