New for 2016

So, if you want to ensure your packaging design really stands out, make sure you pre-book for this free-to-attend conference programme.

Running alongside the conference will be the gallery of The Dieline Awards’ winners, showcasing the best package design from across the globe. A selection of the award winners will also be invited to present case studies as part of the conference content.

Three seminar theatres will run throughout the two days, including and opening keynote presentation from Mark Pawsey MP and Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Packaging Group and big names such as Harrods and Britvic. Stefan Casey, Business Innovation Manager at the Retail Institute, will be chairing the interactive Great Innovation Debate, which will offer an open format to discuss ‘What is innovation?’. Prior to the debate people can scribble their ideas and brainstorm what they think ‘innovation’ really is, where we can find it, how we can drive it on the Innovation Wall.

This year’s theme for The Drinks Symposium is 'Winning at the POP', and will focus on the consumer facing aspects of your drinks packaging. Top level speakers, including Bacardi International and Daemon & Genius, will be on hand to lend their expertise, so you will be able to make your product jump off the shelf.
The Beauty Symposium, will be ‘high-lining’ beauty experts to discuss, inspire and inform giving you the tools and knowledge to innovate your packaging and build a successful beauty business.

The Starpack Industry Awards scheme, now in its 58th year and one of the UK's premier annual awards schemes, will be taking place on both days for the first time in the Keynote Theatre between 12:00 – 13:30; these annual awards recognise innovation in packaging design and technology.

Packaging affects the senses!

It’s official, when it comes to packaging, we have lost our senses. New research suggests that our sense of taste, smell and even feel is directly affected by the packaging a product comes in. In a unique trial, otherwise identical products were rated 35% better overall, simply due to the packaging they were associated with. For instance, perfume was thought to smell 60% nicer and wine tasted 53% better and consumers thought a t-shirt felt 10% more superior, simply if it came in a higher quality pack. The impact of the packaging over senses was so high that people were prepared to pay, on average, nearly three times the price for identical products.
