Job Description

To organize and analyze the data of their shows, our show managers are looking for key potential exhibitors and visitors in specific industries and job functions. Each data acquisition relies on an appropriate selection of industries and job functions.

The mission of the Taxonomy specialist is to maintain the taxonomies of our show's industries and job functions to facilitate the acquisition and the classification of our exhibitors and visitors data.

The role of the Taxonomy specialist will be :

To setup a project to re-organize the entire existing industry and job function taxonomies inside the group. This project will be implemented over a 6 months period. In the context of this project, you will deal with industry specialists to setup the new taxonomies, refer to international/official taxonomies (like NACE, SIC, etc) and work with Show Managers & Data Managers from our different offices.

At the end of this project you will deliver:

a new taxonomy for the industries covered by Artexis Easyfairs shows
a mapping between the new taxonomy and official industrial taxonomies
A mapping between the new taxonomy and local, small & specific industry trees per shows.
A new taxonomy for the major job functions of our visitors and exhibitors.

To maintain the new taxonomies 2-3 days per week :

You will deal with new taxonomy and change requests; implement the changes in the CRM and the registration system.
Keep the mappings between the taxonomies and the international/official taxonomies used by our data providers (Bisnode, Kompass, Dun Bradstreet, etc)
Support the local data managers for data sourcing, segmentation and analysis regarding industry and job function taxonomies.
Follow-up and report on the quality and the completeness of the classifications applied to actual/prospect exhibitors and visitors done by the data managers and the sales persons.
You will report to the Head of Group Data and collaborate on a regular basis with the regional Heads of data and Heads of Exhibitions.

Your work will enable the company to greatly improve the benchmarking of its show databases against the market and will be critical to deliver accurate reports and show analysis to the business.

Qualifications, Experience, Requirements

You have completed a university degree or a graduate degree in information management or library and information science or similar by experience.

Technical skills :

You have a good knowledge of MS Excel advanced functionalities.
You have worked with a database system or similar application to manage taxonomy with a hierarchy of structured items.
You have a solid understanding of metadata, subject classification and description cataloging.
You have an experience of 2 to 7 years in classification systems. Experience in industrial taxonomies management, in data management and data segmentation is a serious plus

Language Skills

You have very good written and spoken English.
