Luxury Packaging London 2019 will celebrate its 10th anniversary when it returns to Olympia on 11 & 12 September, hosted alongside Packaging Innovations. As the UK’s leading luxury packaging event, it will bring together over 180 exhibitors and a dedicated audience of senior buyers, all looking to source the latest in luxury packaging solutions.

With consumer concerns over the impact of packaging on the environment continuing to rise, many exhibitors will address the challenge of creating a premium-feeling product with an eco-conscious design.

Creator of luxury rigid packaging, Knoll Prestige Packaging, will address this when it introduces its new range of packaging options including Ecoform. The new innovation is a sustainable and 100% biodegradable plastic alternative designed to replace thermoformed plastic platforms, which is made from bamboo and sugarcane fibres.

Cotton Barons will be unveiling its newest natural packaging solutions which can be produced to each brand’s bespoke specifications. The latest additions to its product range include eco leather fabric, velvet and brushed cotton, and food certified organic cotton.

Another exhibitor tackling the sustainability question is BillerudKorsnäs, which will display its range of primary packaging solutions made from fibre-based materials. This will include FibreForm, which can be converted into a number of packaging applications from embossed cartons to formed containers.

Hunter Luxury will debut its latest exclusive presentation box, created for The Macallan Estate, which embraces the estate’s character with a landscape-inspired design and a natural slate inlay featuring recessed transcript lettering - an industry first. The company will also display its plastic alternative to film bags, Paptic. Sourced from sustainable wood fibre, the material delivers the quality of both paper and plastic and is suitable for use as cosmetic, gifting and luxury shopping bags.

For those looking for a more bespoke approach, Goodyear Corporation will demonstrate its unique approach to the custom-made packaging process. The company takes its clients through every stage of the process, from design and sourcing to production and logistics in order to create high-quality and cost-effective results.

Leading luxury glass packaging specialist, Croxsons will showcase its range of spirit bottles and luxury closures. Alongside this core collection, the company’s broad range of glass packaging solutions for the wider food and beverage sectors will be on display.

Manufacturer Française de Bougies will join the show to display its bespoke range of perfumed candles and labels which are manufactured in France to each brand’s specific requirements.

Etiq'étains will showcase its range of self-adhesive pewter labels. Available in different finishes to suit all branding needs, the labels are ideal for use on a range of products including spirits, wine and cosmetics.

Packaging affects the senses!

It’s official, when it comes to packaging, we have lost our senses. New research suggests that our sense of taste, smell and even feel is directly affected by the packaging a product comes in. In a unique trial, otherwise identical products were rated 35% better overall, simply due to the packaging they were associated with. For instance, perfume was thought to smell 60% nicer and wine tasted 53% better and consumers thought a t-shirt felt 10% more superior, simply if it came in a higher quality pack. The impact of the packaging over senses was so high that people were prepared to pay, on average, nearly three times the price for identical products.
