Rigid box manufacturer Pollard Boxes has further expanded its specialist ‘End to End’ fulfilment service with the creation of an additional 6,000 sq ft of space, bringing the total area to 100,000 sq ft.

The extended facility within Pollard’s factory near Leicester provides secure storage for goods, combined with a large packing and despatch area. Together with the company’s advanced production capabilities, this enables Pollard to offer customers a bespoke fulfilment operation, covering the design and manufacture of boxes, followed by the packing of product into these and subsequent onward supply to the customer.

Deliveries can be in bulk to retailers or individually addressed to end consumers.

The extended facilities are the latest in a series of recent investments for Pollard, which is acknowledged as one of the most highly invested businesses in the rigid box sector.

Over the past 18 months the company has installed new equipment and facilities to a value in excess of £1 million including an advanced Sakurai printer which is able to produce off-line spot UV varnish, silk screen printing and some very special finishes only possible with the silk screen process.

Another recent investment is a fully automatic Emmeci MC2012 MEB for the manufacture of high quality drinks presentation boxes up to 330mm deep. This is the first of its kind to be installed in the UK and is a major advance over existing machines which are only capable of producing boxes up to 210mm, offering greater flexibility in the design and production of luxury drinks packs.

“We are seeing strong demand across our range of services,” comments commercial director Peter Conner.

“These latest series of investments will ensure we have both the capabilities and flexibility to react quickly to customer demands, tailored to their precise requirements.”
