The non-profit organisation expanded its activities in 2025, including the launch of Project Orion, a social impact programme to improve the professional prospects of at-risk youth

Throughout 2025, Quadpack Foundation has supported projects from Mexico to China to help young people in need. The social entity established by Quadpack underpins its purpose of taking care and giving back, by focusing on the integration of youth at risk of social exclusion. It worked with 31 NGOs, with the help of 106 volunteers from the extended Quadpack family. Key among the various projects – ranging from mentoring to donations – was the roll-out of Project Orion.

Launched earlier this year, Project Orion is a social impact programme that connects companies, NGOs, schools and young people in vulnerable situations, to improve their job prospects and promote inclusivity. The programme promotes internships that give candidates real-life experience to develop their skills, while companies benefit from fresh perspectives and ideas.

Following a successful pilot, Project Orion rolled out with five internships, with three more due to start by the end of the year. The first companies to participate are communications agency and fellow B Corp RosaParks and aerospace company Pangea.

For each internship, Quadpack Foundation works with NGOs and schools to ensure optimal candidate selection, skills matching and support for the participating company. Quadpack Foundation offers company tutors free-of-charge training on mentoring young people at risk. The NGO supports the intern throughout and liaises with their company mentor.

Hafsa Bourak was among the first Project Orion interns (internally known as ‘astronauts’) at Quadpack Foundation, through a collaboration with NGO Fundación Impulsa. She says: “The internship allowed me to develop and strengthen skills such as written and digital communication, organisation, planning and even speaking in public. I once had to present our project in front of 50 people at Punto de Voluntariado! I have gained more confidence and I feel that I have grown both personally and professionally.” Hafsa is now pursuing a degree in international business.

As Project Orion takes off, Quadpack Foundation is actively recruiting companies to open their doors to this untapped talent pool. Project Manager Francesca Malizia explains: “What we’re looking for is quality, paid internships. The candidates really make the most of it. They’re already in education and they are so talented. They just need that lucky break. I tell interested companies, ‘Be the first boss that really believes in them.’ It’s an amazing feeling when you break the cycle and help them explore new professional paths.”
