In March 2025, SFA Packaging BV proudly obtained the ISCC PLUS certification. This achievement marks a significant step in our commitment to sustainability, enabling us to supplement our standard use of virgin polypropylene (PP) with certified renewable and circular raw materials. It aligns seamlessly with our vision of innovation and responsibility in the food packaging industry.

What is ISCC PLUS?

ISCC PLUS (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) is a globally recognized system that ensures traceability and sustainability of raw materials. With this certification, we are now authorized to use certified biobased and recycled PP materials in our injection moulding production, without compromising on quality or food safety.

“For our customers, this means access to sustainable packaging solutions that meet the highest standards – with no trade-off in performance.”
– Marco van der Steen, Quality Assurance Manager

Sustainability drives innovation

At SFA Packaging, we continuously develop solutions that reduce environmental impact while maintaining the highest standards in quality, efficiency, and food safety. The ISCC PLUS certification enhances our ability to support customers in achieving their own sustainability goals – whether that means reducing CO₂ emissions, increasing recyclability, or strengthening their reputation as a responsible brand.

Towards a circular future

We see this certification not as a final goal, but as an important milestone on the path to a circular packaging industry. In the coming period, we will work closely with our customers to explore the most effective ways to apply sustainable PP variants tailored to their products and brand strategies.

“We believe in taking concrete steps towards a circular economy. This certification enables us to integrate certified biobased and circular materials into our production process.”
– Alexander Heinsdijk, Business Development & Marketing Manager
