Smurfit Kappa took home four Golds for its solutions for valued brands Jack Daniels, Huggies, Le Rouge and Standard Brands, along with a number of Silver and Bronze awards. The awards were won by Smurfit Kappa sites in the UK and Ireland.

Of the 13 awards, two were won by Smurfit Kappa inspirepac for the Huggies Baby Wipes Frozen Pack. The product was created using the recently installed Bobst 924 Printer Folder Gluer machine, this machine offers high printing accuracy, image consistency and outstanding quality control. Smurfit Kappa acquired inspirepac in 2015 to build on its existing capabilities in the high quality print and Point-of-Sale market segments.

Smurfit Kappa Chelmsford was awarded a Gold for its creation for Jack Daniels, which judges praised for its crisp and clean finish. The Jack Daniels product shows in-depth knowledge of high-definition print-production at all stages of the process and high-quality print on more demanding Kraft grades of board.

Smurfit Kappa CRP won Gold for its creation for Le Rouge. This was created in collaboration with the customer, resulting in a premium product with increased print definition and a finish with enhanced and bold colours.

Smurfit Kappa’s fourth Gold went to its Lurgan operation for the Standard Brands product. Following a Silver win last year, Lurgan have continued to work in partnership with the customer and challenged their printing capabilities by taking this product from a six to four colour print process, whilst maintaining high quality standards and brand identity.

Clive Bowers, CEO Smurfit Kappa UK, said, “It is incredible to see how well our teams across the UK and in Ireland have done. We are so proud of all those involved and particularly of our inspirepac, Chelmsford, CRP and Lurgan operations on their Gold awards. Winning 13 prizes in one night demonstrates that year-on-year, we are impressing our customers with our print quality to drive sales and delivering on our promise to Open the future.”
