The German Design Award directly contributes to the overall commercial success. Prizes are awarded to projects that truly represent pioneering contributions to the German and international design landscape, by a highly esteemed, international jury. The German Design Award identifies and presents unique design trends: a competition that advances the design-oriented scene.

Stölzle manufactured this stunning bottle, named “The Dark”, for its customer Edrington and proved again its technical excellence in terms of deep black feeder colouration and impressing rune embossing. Just 28,000 bottles were produced for this limited edition spirit.

The Jury’s statement:” This bottle is both a visual and tactile experience. A superb design that adroitly engages with the myth of the Vikings and transposes it to the bottle in a unique fashion.”

Now with 7 glass production sites, 3 decoration sites, and a total of 3,100 employees, Stoelzle is a one-stop-shop for glass packaging development.

New decoration process: Tigital

Tigital is an eco-responsible decorative transfer composed of powder inks, which has been developed in collaboration between Tigital Coatings and Stoelzle Glass Group. This decoration process saves 85% CO2 compared to conventional screen printing.

Once again the renowned European manufacturer of high-end packaging glass, Stölzle Glass Group, gained international recognition in several packaging awards for three of their stunning bottles.

STO decanter enters Cognac market

Starting with the superb first design provided by Stölzle, the Group’s standard decanter “Reserve 700ml” was redesigned as requested by Pierr Lecat for the Cognac XO Mémoire to provide an optimum pouring container. The sleek bottle is complemented by simple, but very elegant silver hot stamping decoration.

STO produces a sparkling green for Weleda

To be "green" is very important for a global ecological company. Weleda has produced organic skin care products for over ninety years and, naturally, the bottles they use for their products come in green glass. The Stölzle glass group Austrian factory has recently developed a special sparkling green colour specifically for Weleda's glass requirements.

The value of STO standards

Cost cutting is a current concern for much of perfumery, cosmetic and personal care packaging. Using standard glass bottles avoids the investment needed for custom design and enables a rapid response to market opportunities. STO's Lucia is an outstanding example. Its short sides add drama to the long, beautifully balanced upper and lower curves.

Cocktails for Oriflame, by STO

Stölzle Flaconnage has produced a custom designed 30ml bottle for Cocktails & the city, Oriflame’s new fragrance range. With a slim cylindrical shape, the bottles have been sleeve wrapped, as this process can provide intricate printed offset litho and/or gravure; high quality, wrap-around designs offering primary container branding with a strong statement and identifiable design.

Lush creates Emotional Brilliance with STO glass

New Lush packaging by STO is a brilliant example of what can be achieved with a standard container. The brand has taken a 5ml "dropper" bottle from Stölzle Flaconnage and adapted the neck to accept different applicators for four products: eye shadow, eye liner, mascara, and lipstick.

New organic spraying line starts up at STO

Stölzle Flaconnage has launched a fourth, organic spraying line at its decoration facility in West Yorkshire. The new spraying line will be dedicated to perfumery and personal care and situated in a new organic area within the decoration factory.

STO provides marine blue for Gant

Stölzle Flaconnage has been chosen by Gant to produce a marine-inspired bottle for their first in-house fragrance. The Gant rectangular bottle features a braided wicker pattern moulded into the deep sea blue glass. It comes in 50ml and 100ml. A rectangular cartouche three quarters of the way up the bottle allows the name to be moulded onto an undecorated background.

A creative voyage by STO for Oriflame

For Oriflame’s new Voyager Eau de Toilette, Stölzle Flaconnage have produced a custom designed bottle that uses moulding magic. Rising from a rectangular base, the custom designed 75ml bottle transforms itself into a tactile oval that fits beautifully into the hand. The distribution of molten glass in the moulding process has been finely judged to provide a dramatic bottle for a powerful fragrance.

STO rises with two Full Moons for Oriflame

Stölzle Flaconnage have produced two versions of a custom designed bottle for Oriflame's new, passionate duo of limited edition fragrances: Full MoonFor Her and Full MoonFor Him. Together they demonstrate the exciting effect a change of proportions can make to a classically shaped bottle. Oriflame has conceived these fragrances as embodying passionate male and female responses to the 'Full Moon – When magic happens'.

STO master moulding for premium whisky

The release of Grant’s top range 25 Year Old Scotch whisky has called for an exercise in master moulding from STO Flaconnage. STO is a member of the Stölzle Glass Group, experts in both custom design and standard glass containers for the prestige spirits, perfumery and personal care markets.

STO supplies Neal’s Yard Remedies

Stölzle Flaconnage has supplied Neal’s Yard Remedies with a cobalt blue, 30ml cylindrical glass bottle. NYR wished to upgrade the packaging for serums, elixirs and premium treatment products. The new bottle, called Anna and designed in collaboration with NYR, has joined the STO standard range of flint glass bottles for the perfumery and personal care industry. The new bottle "convey[s] the style used across the rest of the brand, whilst also bringing the appearance up to date from its apothecary style roots."
