Zhejiang UKPACK Packaging Co., Ltd. has successfully obtained Product Carbon Footprint Certification issued by an independent third-party authority.
Multiple cosmetic packaging products manufactured by the company have been awarded the Carbon Footprint of Products Certificate. This achievement marks a solid step forward in UKPACK’s efforts toward green manufacturing, low-carbon management, and sustainable development, while also providing global beauty brands with more environmentally responsible packaging solutions.
According to the certification, carbon footprint data collection was conducted from December 1, 2024 to November 30, 2025. The assessment scope covers UKPACK’s core cosmetic packaging product categories, including PP cosmetic packaging containers (bottle bodies and caps) and PET cosmetic packaging bottle bodies.
The carbon footprint calculation adopts 1 kg of cosmetic packaging container as the functional unit, with a system boundary extending from product creation to delivery and use. Greenhouse gas emissions generated during raw material acquisition and product manufacturing stages were systematically and quantitatively evaluated.
The certification results indicate the following carbon footprint values:
PP cosmetic packaging containers: 1.25 kg CO2e per kg
PET cosmetic packaging bottle bodies: 3.81 kg CO2e per kg
From the emissions structure analysis, raw material acquisition is identified as the primary source of carbon emissions, accounting for more than 70%–90% of total emissions. This provides a clear direction for future efforts in material optimization, recycled material application, and supply chain decarbonization.
The certification process was conducted in strict accordance with national standards including GB/T 24067-2024 and GB/T 45441-2025, and involved multiple procedures such as document review, initial factory inspection, and post-certification surveillance. The certificate was issued by ZQHX Certification Center Co., Ltd., and remains valid until December 2028, ensuring ongoing supervision and data reliability.
Zhejiang UKPACK Packaging stated that obtaining product carbon footprint certification is not only a recognition of its existing production management system, but also a significant milestone in advancing its green packaging strategy. Looking ahead, the company will continue to optimize material selection and production processes, actively explore low-carbon materials, lightweight designs, and recyclable solutions, and support beauty and personal care brands worldwide in achieving higher ESG and sustainability standards.
